2012 Nissan Leaf Reviews

2012 Nissan Leaf Reviews - NISSAN 2012 has REVEALED more details and video of its first foray into the electric vehicle market, the Nissan LEAF. The Nissan LEAF is expected to arrive on Australian roads in 2012. Discount New Cars Get the best price on a new Nissan

Due for launch in Japan next year, the LEAF will compete with the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and Subaru's Plug-In Stella, but will bring greater affordability to the revolutionary electric vehicle market.

While the Stella weighs in at around AU $61,000 in Japan, and the i-MiEV at around AU$43,000, Nissan claims the LEAF will be priced to compete with a well-equipped petrol-powered vehicle in the small car segment.

It’s fair to say that Nissan is somewhat of a Johnny-come-lately when it comes to hybrid-vehicle movement. While automakers like Toyota and Honda hopped on the green party bandwagon long ago, Nissan’s lineup still only includes one hybrid vehicle, the Altima Hybrid. And even the Altima Hybrid, which borrows technology from Toyota, is only sold in small quantities in select geographic locations. Needless to say, Nissan’s upcoming electric vehicle, the 2012 Nissan Leaf, is long overdue. Although a full car review and road test will not be possible until the Leaf makes its North American debut in late 2010, we’ve summarized all of the information currently available on the Nissan Leaf in our preview.
